12-year-old Ben is new in town and at the water polo summer camp. From the very start, his attempts to fit in are met with little success. Together with Eli, whose skin rash is mocked as a contagious plague, he soon becomes an outsider. In Charlie Polinger’s debut feature THE PLAGUE, the horrors of growing up and being an outsider are rendered with disturbing intensity — a feeling anyone who has ever been bullied at school can relate to.
