Welcome to the Frankfurt Fear Lab Matinee on September 21 at 12:00 noon! We invite you to an exciting talk about the current state of genre filmmaking. "From the Idea to the Festival Screening" is the title of the panel discussion in which we will talk with international filmmakers about how young genre cinema can be specifically strengthened and better integrated into existing structures. Please meet as panel guests director Yasemin Şamdereli, jury member of our FEAR GOOD competition, Andreas Prochaska, who will present his new horror film WELCOME HOME BABY at this year's Fantasy Filmfest, as well as Swedish director Mattias J. Skoglung, whose film THE HOME (HEMMET) will be part of our FRESH BLOOD competition. The discussion will take place with free admission at the cinema Harmonie.
andreas prochaska
began his career as an editor and was responsible for editing FUNNY GAMES, among other films. He made his breakthrough in 2006 with IN 3 DAYS YOU'LL BE DEAD. In 2013, he received the Austrian Film Award for THE DARK VALLEY.
mattias j. skoglund
is a Swedish director and writer whose second feature film, THE HOME (HEMMET), had its world premiere at SXSW 2025. His audio horror series “Voices of the Dead” achieved cult status in Sweden.
yasemin ṣamdereli
After completing her studies at the HFF Munich, the Dortmund-born director's debut film, ALMANYA, celebrated its world premiere at the 2011 Berlinale and won numerous awards. This was followed by further prestigious international film projects.
